Bernardo K. Cho investigates how Jewish messianism from the mid-second century BCE to the late first-century CE envisaged the proper relation between the Israelite king and the Jerusalem priests in the ideal future, and then proceeds to describe how the Gospel of Mark addresses this issue in depicting Jesus. Cho responds to claims that the Markan Jesus regards the kingdom of God as fundamentally opposed to the ancient Levitical system, and argues that, just as with most of its related Jewish literature, the earliest Gospel assumes the expectation that the royal messiah would bring the Jerusalem institution to its eschatological climax. But Mark also depicts Jesus's stance towards the priests in terms of a call to allegiance and warning of judgement. Cho concludes that the Markan Jesus anticipates the destruction of the Jerusalem temple because the priests have rejected Israel's end-time ruler and thus placed themselves outside the messianic kingdom. -- ‡c From publisher's description.

This book provides a comprehensive, up-to-date summary of drug-coated balloon (DCB) technology and the role of DCBs in the treatment of coronary and peripheral arterial disease. In addition to clear explanation of how DCBs work, readers will find an enlightening analysis of the mistakes and successes of the past decade and the emergence of the latest delivery systems, which combine a more deliverable device with much improved drug delivery to the vessel wall. The full range of current applications of DCBs are reviewed in detail, drawing on the latest scientific evidence. Due attention is paid to newer devices, with provision of technical insights and documentation of the available clinical data. Ongoing research projects, remaining technical challenges, likely future directions, and reimbursement issues are also carefully considered. This book will be a useful tool for any interventional cardiologist, interventional radiologist, or vascular surgeon who wishes to acquire a deep knowledge of this technology and its application in both coronary and peripheral interventions.

"This work discusses mechanistic approaches to the geotechnics of roads, which are based on the mechanical behavior of materials and on the physical relationships of continuum mechanics. The application of such approaches could allow the development of new technical solutions towards increased sustainability in the use of natural resources. However, their success requires a deep understanding of the behavior of the constituent materials, made possible by recent advances in geotechnical engineering. This book focuses on flexible pavements or unpaved roads, since the behavior of unbound granular materials and soil support is crucial in the performance of those structures." [Publisher]

This book provides comprehensive review of the most recent studies made in terms of the impacts of contaminants in the marine environment. Classical and state-of-the-art information and techniques are presented applied to several types of marine organisms, from bacteria to fungi and animals to algae. Specific topics discussed including the impacts of different contaminants in different organisms but also different approaches and their outcomes in terms of impact assessment. Also the integration of these techniques is discussed in order to attain sentinel species and biomarkers to be applied in ecological quality and impact assessment programs and studies. This is an important book useful to researchers, risk assessment consultants, stake-holders, and teachers and students and the ecotoxicologist community in a whole.

Immunotherapeutic products, and immune checkpoints inhibitors in particular, are increasingly used in the management of malignancies, both as monotherapies and in combination. Adverse events tend to be mild to moderate, but they can be severe or even life-threatening. Prompt recognition and effective management are vital. 'Fast Facts: Managing Immune-Related Adverse Events' is an accessible overview that brings together clear explanations and management summaries. This highly readable handbook examines the possible effects of immunotherapies on the skin, gastrointestinal tract, liver, endocrine system and lungs, as well as less frequent reactions. Detailed descriptions and evidence-based guidance for practical application make 'Fast Facts: Managing Immunotherapy-Related Adverse Events' an invaluable resource for all healthcare professionals who may encounter patients using immunotherapy, including nurses, who are particularly well placed to identify changes linked to use of immunotherapy, those working in the emergency department and primary care providers. Table of Contents: • Immunotherapy and its side effects: an overview • Gastrointestinal and hepatic adverse events • Dermatologic adverse • Endocrine-related adverse events • Pulmonary adverse events • Less frequent adverse events • Optimizing patient care and early recognition of immune-related adverse events • Management summaries

This paper provides new evidence of factors, other than GDP per capita, that correlate with the development of insurance markets. Based on 20 years of insurance premium data from 180 countries, and a similar wealth of data on institutions and financial market development, the paper presents important correlates of insurance market development. Although the analysis cannot identify which factors directly cause insurance market growth, the results suggest that interventions aimed at stimulating insurance supply and demand should take enabling factors, such as the quality of institutional governance and the degree of financial market development, into consideration.
